Ignore those people and carry on RP'ing your thing regardless. If you come up with something interested it will get acknowledged sooner or later. Personally I don't use any of the community sites other than the IGS and I just do what I think makes sense for my character.
What I don't do is try to involve myself with every damned thing, for one thing I only have some much time, for another I prefer to pick and choose what is relevant to me.
So long as you are respectful (OOC at least!) then you should be 'accepted' sooner or later. And if not, ignore them.
I agree Ugleb.
I run with a bunch of OOC'ers, but I fully enjoy PVP and RP myself. I contribute to the immersion when and where I can. I have read a lot of the material and I even find PVPers getting into the story a lot.
Best thing is to do your own thing and stitch it in with others. Write a blog that is setup like a captain's log or etc. Use the gate.eveonline.com site to broadcast things. Get a Twitter account for your capsuleer. Find others who are doing the same. My RP style tends to float around actual events that happen to me in game mixed with out of game events. One thing I've found is that on teamspeak and in everyday Eve related communications your character becomes you. What's interesting about Eve is that you are never given a role to pick. Like you know, "I'm the barbarian, you be the thief, etc"... what interests you as a real live person is what you gravitate to. Your involvement within the politics of Eve, or the looting of scraps, or hunting foes.. all of it... writes out who your character is.
If you happen to get podded like 100 times a week. Write about it. Try to use available "game lore" you find on the Eve site and those awesome short stories to color what you write, but don't let it constrain you to feeling like you have to always do this. Use the Eve communities words.. yeah even things like getting "Concorded". Many non-roleplayers could identify and may want to join in.
Be that which you want others to be. Be the example. _______________________________________
